New book out in August

Well, hooray!

After lots and lots of writing this time last year, and lots and lots of editing in the autumn and winter, I’ve just finished my latest book for Chicken House. It’s an adventure story called The Castle, and it will be out in August, so look out for it then.

In many ways, The Castle is a continuation of all the other books I’ve written. It’s about a teenage girl who discovers her amazingness in the course of dealing with a lot of tough challenges. It’s set in current times, and inspired by current events, and its has its glamorous side, which in this case involves superyachts and Louis Vuitton steamer trunks, and Audrey Hepburn.

But it’s different too. It’s a full-on adventure story. There are guns. And scary bits. And other scary bits. There are bad guys who for once aren’t dressed in gold Charlotte Olympia platforms.

And it’s more autobiographical than you’d think.
