This month marks the beginning of my stint as patron of the TS Foundation Readers Cup. On Tuesday I was lucky enough to watch four teams from South London compete in a thrilling quiz. They all knew their books inside out and the tension was palpable as they leaped to be the first on the buzzer.
The winners were John Burns Primary School, who I’ll be visiting later. But every participant contributed to the thrill of the day with their hard work and excitement. There is nothing like being surrounded by young readers. My favourite place to be!
