    Hi Sophia!
I just read the (very old, apparently) news that Threads was going to be made into a TV series. What’s the latest news on that? Would love to see a TV series or even a movie on Threads.
Saying that, Threads was really a good book to read; and despite the fact that me being rather not-much-interested in the fashion business (I’m more of a Eddie that way) I could still connect with Nonnie.

Hi! The latest is that the TV company who bought the option for Threads are still talking to a broadcaster about making a series. But nothing is finalised yet. I’ll put it on the website if anything changes! I’d love to see something happening too. So glad you enjoyed the book. S xxx

I’d love to do that! I’m really honoured to know it’s the best book you’ve read. I’m very fond of it too! However, I don’t think there will be a sequel, sadly. I’m working on something new, set in the Victorian art world, that will be out in 2017. Look out for it in spring. sophia xxx

Hi again Emily! Sadly there are no film or sequel plans for Love Song at the moment – despite all sorts of ideas for what happens to Angus and the others … If you happen to meet any film directors, let them know! I’d love to see it brought to life on screen. Sophia xxx

Thanks Kim. I agree! Of all my books, The Castle is the one I most imagined as a movie while I was writing it. I’d love to see it made – with a girl adventurer in the main part. One day, maybe … Sophia xxx

Thank you so much! I’m very honoured. I’d love to write a sequel, but don’t have plans to at the moment. I’m writing a book about a girl and a boyband. But maybe one day – I’d love to explore what Ted and Ava get up to next. sophia xxx

    Hi, Sophia!

So, it’s been awhile since I last write you and I read so many good books. I am still waiting to translate your books into my language. I want to ask you two questions:
    – do u have influence on how your book covers will look like?
    – do you maybe know, if there will be movies make after some of your books?

Thank you for your answers. Sorry for my spelling mistakes.

    Love, Anja

Hi Anja. Thanks for your question. I don’t have that much influence over my book covers – and none at all on those outside the UK. I love the French and Italian covers, though. I always like book covers with graphic styles.
I’m afraid I don’t know if any of the books will be made into movies. I hope so, though!

    Hia!
I absolutely love Threads and despite my being 14 and my English teacher thinking that I adore classics and highly intellectual stuff (which some of which I do) Threads will forever and always be my favourite series. You might or might not remember me but we emailed quite a bit about Threads a while back. I now have a weekly feature on Fashion Capital called ‘What’s Trending This Week?’ as well as other articles, I have fashion contacts worldwide and my summer is set to be filled with work experience, placements and fun! I have created my own collection inspired by India, geometric shapes and most importantly Threads – which has helped me win some art competitions and attention! I am closer to my fashion dream than ever before and your novels were part of that inspiration. I love you, your personality and your books – good luck with the next one! xxxxx

Wow! That is so exciting! I’m thrilled that Threads has helped inspire you to achieve so much already. Nonie would be proud of you! Thanks so much for sharing your story, and keep me posted on how it goes. I’d love to see some pictures of your collection sometime. Thanks for your good wishes for the new book. It’s nearly finished … sophia xxx

    Hi, Sophia!

In my country The look and You don’t know me(and other your books) aren’t translated in my language. So, I speak English, but there are some words that I don’t really understand, because I live in Slovenia. I am really sad, that I can’t read more of your books. I read one of your books(Threads), because as I mentioned earlier, other books aren’t translated in Slovene.

Well, that’s all!(keep writting good books)
    bye!

Hi Anja. I’ll certainly try to keep writing good books! It’s always wonderful to hear from a reader in Slovenia, I wish the other books could be translated into Slovenian too. Your English is certainly much better than my (non-existent) Slovenian, though! Maybe reading a book like The Look could help you learn some more. If you have any vocab questions, ask me! sophia xxx

Hi Naomi. I often talk in schools about how I started out as a writer, and I mention that for ten years, between jobs, I wrote books that didn’t get published. I have boxes and boxes of manuscripts in my shed from those years, and somewhere there are all the rejection letters I received from agents and publishers. Then, in 2008, I entered a competition in The Times with my manuscript for Threads and the prize was publication. That time, at last, I won. I learned that what it takes to make your dream come true is practice, practice, practice, finding every opportunity you can get and believing in yourself. If there is a talent show, enter it. If you can find a great teacher, work with them. If you have friends who love to sing too, then sing with them. Join a choir. Learn an instrument. Perhaps you can write your own songs one day. Follow the great examples of people like Ed Sheeran – be true to yourself, work hard and keep believing. There will be bumps and knocks along the way, but that’s all part of the journey. Above all, keep doing what you love. sophia xxx

    Hi Sophia!
On your homepage, you said that you’re currently writing a book about “a girl, a band, and some big problems”, but that kinda sems like You Don’t Know Me..?
And, oh, by the way, is the new book called Heart of Glass? The name feels just ‘oh-so-right’ as a YA book. I’m looking forward to read it! Keep on writing! πŸ˜€

Hi Iqra. Thanks so much for saying you like the name for the new book! That really helps! I suppose it does sound like ‘You Don’t Know Me’, the way I described it, but this book is primarily a love story, about a girl and a boy in a rock band. I think it will seem a little different when you read it! sophia xxx

I just recently started reading your book (THREADS) and after that I sat down and order the rest of the series. I have been looking at your other works and am worried that my bank account might take a bit of a bruising! I love your works, they are inspiring to youngster who want to follow their dreams (however farfetched said dream might be). Whatever happens in the future. Keep writing. You wouldn’t have been given this gift if you weren’t made to put pen to paper.
    Keep writing
    Keep rocking!
